Risk Department

The Sportsbet Risk team is responsible for the management of liabilities on all Racing and Sports product offerings, to ensure they remain within pre-determined limits set by the company.

We are also responsible for clearing certain bets as they are placed and for the profiling of clients to ensure the business maximises its profit margins across its product offering.

Our team monitors both the flow of wagers and price movements in order to identify betting trends and is required to react to news, updates, and team changes injuries etc. which may impact the market.

The Risk team also work hand in glove with the Racing & Sports Traders. Whilst the traders set the prices, its imperative clear communication exists between the trading and risk functions in relation to trends or where liabilities are approaching desired comfort levels.

As part of a market leading 24/7 operation, the Risk Team are required to have advanced analytical skills, a strong understanding of how markets operate and a good sense of instinct!
